No matter what time of year you plan to visit Heber Springs, you can rest assured that you will be able to easily find fun for the whole family. The Heber Springs Chamber of Commerce is pleased to coordinate several special events and festivals during the course of the year with many great sponsors.
Springfest has rapidly become one of our fastest growing festivals and attracts many visitors every year to Spring Park located in the heart of town to be entertained by world class talent on our main stage and to shop with our many vendors setup in the park showcasing their arts and crafts, clothing and food. At other times of the year many reunions are also held at Spring Park including Gospel Concerts, Old Soldiers Reunion, and others.
Frequently during the spring and summer months, a mini-farmers market is also available alongside Spring Park by local growers selling farm fresh and home-grown fruits and vegetables. In addition, a playground can be found at Spring Park complete with swings, jungle gym, and tennis courts along with two outdoor amphitheaters and of course our natural springs.
Quite Possibly our most popular event during the summer months is The World Championship Cardboard Boat Races, where contestants spend their winter months constructing boats made from cardboard only and then race them in the waters of Greers Ferry Lake at Spring Park. The World Championship Cardboard Boat Races has gained attention from media outlets around the world and grows continuously every year.
Contestants and onlookers can participate in contests such as sand castle building and watermelon eating for prizes donated by our many sponsors and area businesses.
During the winter months, one would think that things would slow down a bit for Heber Springs, but that is not the case. Many tourists flock to Heber Springs on driving tours in search of fall color and to see the lake. Also during the winter months, many fishing tournaments take place on Greers Ferry Lake and the Little Red River. Winter Fly-fishing on the Little Red River for Rainbow and German Brown Trout is extremely popular. The beautiful Trumpeter Swans make their annual trek to Heber Springs
in mid-November and stay until late February.
The Annual "Taste of Heber" and Art Walk has become a very popular event during Springfest and showcases our local restaurants. Local Artists are on hand to meet with visitors and to autograph artwork.
In addition to the many festivals in Heber Springs each year, the Heber Springs Chamber of Commerce also hosts an annual Business Expo which provides an excellent opportunity for members of the business community to network.
The Christmas Holiday Season finds Heber Springs decked out in lights. Our holiday show of lights features Spring Park completely covered in lights as well as all of the downtown businesses all the way to our historic landmark, the Cleburne County Courthouse.
