Springfest 2008 Art & Craft Booth Application

 

Quality Art & Handmade Crafts, Food & Entertainment - Art, Jewelry, Pottery, Wood Art, Wrought Iron,  Yard Furniture & Native American crafts are just a few of the booths in Spring Park, including Pony rides, Bungee jump, slides and much more for the kids. Entertainment throughout the weekend in Spring Park Jazz, Bluegrass, Blues, Gospel, Country, Dancers & more.

Taste_of_HeberArt Walk & "Taste of Heber" Friday from 6-8 PM, - Over 20 restaurants and as many artists participate in the annual Art Walk & Taste of Heber event on Friday evening. Stroll through downtown and see the artistic talents of area two and three dimensional artists with various entertainment and lots of great food. Get your card punch at each participating exhibitor to win some great prizes. Also, you will want to stay long enough to see & bid on the Chair Art Auction items at 7:30 Friday evening downtown. Last year had 17 entries bringing in over $3,000 to benefit the Springfest Festival. Just ordinary chairs are transformed into work of art just right for your living or dining room. The Art Exhibit will also be open on Saturday from 10 AM to 2PM.

Everyone is welcome, from the beginner to the more experienced artist or want to be artist. Participants are asked to provide a metal, wood, canvas or vinyl chair and transform it into a work of art. You don't have to paint like Michelangelo to do this. Part of the fun is finding that right chair and designing the artwork to go on it. Chairs will be auctioned Friday evening as a fundraiser to help support Springfest. Chairs will be displayed the week of Springfest in downtown shops.

 

monarch butterfly and flowerFlower Photo Exhibit:  Everybody has taken a beautiful picture of a flower sometime in their life.  No matter what your age you can enter the Flower Photo Exhibit and have your work displayed at the Art Walk during Springfest Friday evening April 25th and Saturday, April 26th.   For more information please call the chamber at 501-362-2444.  Entry deadline is April 21st.

Pack your bags for fun at Springfest in the Ozarks as we take you on a nature adventure into the Butterfly Pavilion. No shots needed, no jet lag when entering the land of 100 butterflies. You will explore sights and sounds, food sources and the migration of the beautiful monarch butterfly even feed the butterflies. Tickets to enter are $5 which includes a butterfly net, plus the first 25 people get to let your own butterfly go in the pavilion. All those entering the pavilion throughout the weekend are eligible to enter the opportunity to release all the butterflies on Sunday, however you must be present to win. Winner announced around 4 PM. Call the chamber for details - (501) 362-2444.

Take the Lake 5K Run - Saturday, April 26th at 6PM. Race Day Registration begins at 1:00pm at Dam Site Park parking lot (Finish Line). Registration closes at 5:30pm for 5K and 4:00pm for Kids' Fun Run with Kids Fun Run beginning at 4:30pm and 5K at 6:00 pm. All participants will be bussed from Dam Site Park parking lot (Registration Area & Finish Line) to Starting Line at JFK Overlook Park. $100 cash awarded to 1st Male & 1st Female to cross finish line. Refreshments will be provided for participants. T-shirt size not guaranteed unless pre-registered by April 12th. Dam Site Park is located off of Highway 25B North. Volkswagen Car Show - Sponsored by the Mountain Top Volkswagen Club.  Car Show to be held Downtown Heber Springs, Sat April 26th, from 9am - 5pm.  Awards cermonies 3:30pm.  $15 to register before April 11 or $20 after.  Rain or shine.   For more information please call 501-362-3887 or pick up registration at Chamber office, 1001 West Main Street, Heber Springs. 

Community Parade - Sat. April 26th - 11AM - Theme, "Flower Power", 1st,2nd & 3rd place trophies for floats. Lineup at 10:30 AM at Harps Parking Lot on West Main Street. Everyone invited to participate.

josh park memorialJosh Park Memorial 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament to be held Saturday, April 26th at First Baptist Church, North 3rd St.  Tournament begins at 9:30 am with check-in at 8:30am.  Cost: $10 per person with deadline for signup to be guarenteed a t-shirt and drawing for ipod and gift cards being April 20th for 7th grade and up.  For more information and sign up click here.
