Kick-Start Heber Springs
The Heber Springs community began working with the University of Central Arkansas’ Community Development Institute and the Breakthrough Solutions program at the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension in August 2015. At that time a group of community and economic development professionals visited Heber Springs to assess the community’s current situation and help them identify breakthroughs to move the community forward. As a result of that session, and monthly meetings since that time, priority areas and several breakthroughs have been identified as part of this process.
The resulting Action Plan is a culmination of over nine months of community planning and extensive work by community leaders and institutions of higher education.
The Kick Start Heber Springs Action Plan outlines specific goals to improve this community in six key areas: Branding and Marketing, Economic Development, Education and Workforce, Quality of Life and Place, Tourism, and Funding/Finance.
Each of the six Kick-Start Heber Springs committees meets on a regular basis to work toward achieveing each of their goals and then all committees meet together as a group on the third Wednesday of each month at the Heber Springs Community Center, room 1, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. All meetings are open to the public. If you would like to join a committee, contact the Chamber or email firstname.lastname@example.org
